Setup Guide 2: Set Up Your First Service on the Dashboard

Either on the home or the Services screen, click Add New.

All information should be filled out immediately but can also be edited later: See Edit a Service.

After the required information has been entered, you can click Add at any time.

Enter first and last name for the deceased. If a middle name is wanted on the registry screen, put it in the first name field with a single space after the first name. Do not use double quotation marks.

Select gender *Required. (The gender selection is important for the outreach email, if your funeral home subscribes to this service).

Select Reminder Dates (E-Reminders)

Note: For use only if you are using the outreach component (See Expression: Outreach Account Overview) of Expression Guest Registry.

When you click each date field a calendar will pop up. Use the right and left arrows on the top of the calendar to switch between months. You can also use the drop down menus to select the month. DO NOT SELECT THE YEAR. The year is for our system to know when to stop sending e-reminders.

*Use only those dates that re relevant (holidays) or published in obituary (i.e. birthday or anniversary).

Make sure you are on the correct month and click the date, the calendar will disappear. Each reminder entry brings up a different calendar.

The holiday reminder is set to Dec 1. Easter's date is set by an online calendar. Each are activated with just a Yes or a No.

Enable Contributions

Contributions should only be enabled if previously presented to and agreed upon by the family to accept the convenience fee.

Select "Yes", if credit card contributions should be accepted.

If accepting contributions, the "Payable to" field is displayed. This is for your reference to whom the check should be made payable to once funds are added to your account.

Add a Photo

Click the button "Choose a File". Browse to the photo you would like to use, and select it.

Note: Pictures need to be in .png or.jpg format.

Make sure to double check all entries for spelling and date errors.

Click "Add" and you are finished.

Edit a Service

After a service is created, you can go back and edit the information. You can also add new dates or change the photo.

Click the "Services" button at the top of the Expression Dashboard.

Find the service that you would like to edit, click the "Edit" button.

Once changes are made, click the "Save" button at the bottom.

Note: When changing active services you will need to update the information on the kiosks being used for the service. Refer to Refresh Expression App.

Refresh Expression App

Refreshing the Expression App does three main things:

  1. Gets new services that were created on the dashboard.

  2. Gets changes made to previously created services. Including service picture, service name, and functionality changes (i.e. returning guest, contributions).

  3. Pushes offline entries to the Dashboard.

    *Note: You must be connected to either Wi-Fi or cellular data to refresh. 

On the Service Selection scree, tap Refresh/Update button. All new and changed information will be added to the app and all entries that were being stored on the app will be pushed to the dashboard.
